Glowing Treasures by Arthur
Szyk |
Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver of The Temple (Tifereth Israel) in University Circle had seen the work of Polish-Jewish artist Arthur Szyk (1894-1951) who had come to America in 1940. In 1947 Szyk was commissioned to design two major works.
To share the beauty of these works by Szyk, in 2017 The Temple - Tifereth Israel published a booklet describing them. Thanks to Dr. Katya Oicherman, Director of the Mishkan Or Museum of Jewish Cultures, we are able to display the entire booklet, as amended in 2024, here. View booklet A Memorial in Glass (PDF) For easier viewing the booklet's images have been reduced to web resolution. Learn more about the Mishkan Or Museum of Jewish Cultures April 16, 2025 |
