Rabbi Daniel A. Roberts |
Events that changed
my life: Coping with my father’s death when I was 10
and watching my mother rise above the tragedy and
continue to provide stability to my sisters and me;
participating in youth-group leadership camp and
meeting and working with rabbis who cared; going to
Israel for the first time in 1964; being ordained;
reading Viktor Frankl’s book Man’s Search for
Meaning; loving my association with Rabbi Alan
Singer Green, who helped mold my rabbinate; feeling
grateful to all the members of my congregation who
allowed me to share in their sacred moments and
kvelling from several of my students who chose the
rabbinate; and feeling blessed by the love and
support of my wife Elaine. Image copyright Herbert Ascherman © 2008
